what we have read elsewhere. We are not influenced
by developers, publishers, or anyone else and
despite the fact that we communicate and deal
with developers on a daily basis we do not allow
our professional contact to affect our judgement
on the products which you may be planning to
purchase. We always attempt to be as subjective
and honest as possible - both in the positive
and negative sense when appropriate.
Scores by category
A score of 1-2 represents a game that is flawed
in more than one area and has serious gameplay
deficiencies
A score of 3-4 represents a game that could
be enjoyable and containts some nice innovative
features, but is deficient in key areas where
gameplay is seriously affected.
A score of 5-6 represents a game that is enjoyable,
engaging, interesting... Most games fall into
this bracket, fun titles that don't really shine
but offer some solid entertainment, especially
for fans of the genre. There are problems here,
but most gamers will enjoy the title on some
level.
A score of 7-8 represents a game that is recommended
for most gamers. It might have some minor flaws,
or it may lack originality, but it's got great
gameplay and it's well worth your time.
A score of 9-10 represents an exceptional game
that we recommend without reservation. These
are landmark titles that are generally in the
running for Game of the Year.
