Welcome to the first GamersBlog on TSJ.
Played my first online game of NHL 2004 today. After spending quite a while playing offline and running my Maple Leafs through the gruelling schedule of a franchise season, I decided my skills were 'perfected' enough to be able to take my game online. Having no idea of the caliber of the players competing online, I was reassured that I would have enough to at least be competitive. As it turned out my opponent ran out into a 2-0 lead, scoring his second from a long way out. I wasn't being outplayed though, in fact I had a bunch of chances on goal and was out-shooting him.
In the second period my Leafs came back to make it 2-1 and I had a few chances immediately after to tie the game up.
But it was in the 3rd period when I really pushed to get the goal that he broke away and made it 3-1 - which is exactly how it finished.
I can honestly say that the game was a ton of fun though, and playing online certainly adds a new dimension - as it does with just about any game. NHL 2004 is in my opinion a great game of hockey and while hockey purists may have a beef with some aspects of the game in a realistic sense I am having plenty of fun.
Also played a game of Tiger Woods online today but was totally outplayed in a 9 hole game of matchplay.
